PEACE TRAIN at FALCON RIDGE

Flock of Doves magic with Gandolf Murphy, Dar Williams and John Gorka in 2007.

ALL GOD’S CHILDREN’S PEACE DAY.

Dove dances with the United Congregational Church of Norfolk, with Lizzie West and Baba Buffalo, on the village green in Norfolk Connecticut on June 7th, 2009.

One of MB&D’s Giant Doves soaring at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC

Maya Apfelbaum was the stilt puppeteer, obviously enjoying the grace of the Doves. In the video you can see a grandfather holding his granddaughter up to be blessed, and other lovely interactions with nature and awed bystanders. This video was shot by Richard Sharpe.

MB&D Stilt Dancing at New York Dance Parade
I found this cool little video on YouTube. It was shot by someone in the parade audience standing near St Marks, towards the end of the parade, but it was posted by someone that goes by the name “so n so”. It shows one of the many ‘solo circles’ we did when the parade stopped, this one featuring Maya Apfelbaum, but this time the solo circle was interrupted when the parade began to move again.

More of the parade. This video is by wlinden and was found on vimeo .

Stilt Dancing at Hollywood Beach Fat Tuesday

There’s a video from Hollywood Beach Florida Bureau of Tourism about Miss Florida and other beauty girls at Hollywood Beach Fat Tuesday! There are a few bits of us two stilt dancers as well! It certainly was a fun event to do, and I promise it was fun not just because of all the princesses! Check it out!

The Flock of Doves at Wisdom House
Here’s a new/old video of the Flock of Doves! Sam Haber of uneedfilms.com made this splendid piece last year at Wisdom House in Litchfield, but the video has just now been posted on YouTube for you to enjoy! Sam created an art work of his own out of footage he captured of MB&D’s performance art. Check it out!

The Why Cheap Art Manifesto
Written by Peter Schuman of Bread and Puppet, this video is a fun reading of the manifesto, created by videographer Drew Vanderburg at the New York Dance Festival in Tompson Square Park in May of 2008. Featured at the start and end is Mortal Beasts & Deities’ own Geppetto! Also in the video is longtime MB&D supporter Marta, “But you can eat some art!”

Stilt Dancing with the Mortal Beasts & Deities!
A video made by Michael Angelo Britt at Kingston New York Artist’s Soapbox Derby in August 2008, of Mark Alexander jiving and stilt dancing and other nonsense.

The Mortal Beasts & Deities camp after the Falcon Ridge tornado!
This is a video that just happens to feature the Mortal Beasts & Deities’ ruined Falcon Ridge camp. Most of the tents collapsed, but thanks to many white knuckles holding on for dear life, the big tent loaded with puppets and stilt gear actually survived the tornado and hail, but the flash flood afterward destroyed Dove puppets and soiled several stilt costumes. The water level had fallen by the time this video was made a few hours later. July 27, 2008.
